Process & Print Quality

All pieces are original and unique concepts designed by the THEY WHO DARE design team.

When a design is complete, we create a high resolution 300 dpi file that is sent to the print facility for color calibration with the printers. We then make color corrections to ensure the color matches the design vision, and then finalize the files for production. All digital files are at 300dpi to ensure max clarity.

When a poster is available in multiple sizes with different aspect ratios, for example 18x24 and 24x36 sizes, we custom design the poster for each size, instead of simply upscaling or downscaling a design. This ensures that each design is customized for the scale of the print, ensuring that at any size the design maintains maximum impact. This attention detail makes our posters stand out.

Print quality

Each poster is giclée-printed on archival acid-free paper with archival and lightfast inks. The paper has a smooth matte finish, and a thick and durable weight.

  • Paper thickness: 10.3 mil
  • Paper weight: 5.57 oz/y² (189 g/m²)
  • Giclée printing quality
  • Opacity: 94%
  • ISO brightness: 104%

What is giclée-printing? Per wikipedia:

"Giclée is a neologism coined in 1991 by printmaker Jack Duganne for fine art digital prints made on inkjet printers. The name originally applied to fine art prints created on a modified Iris printer in a process invented in the late 1980s."
